CASTING CALL: We’re seeking two South Florida-based, male-identifying actors for roles in a sci-fi comedy world premiere! Think SNL meets intergalactic burlesque—expect slapstick physical comedy, wild characters, and a big-hearted dose of chaos. BIPOC and Latiné artists are strongly encouraged to audition.

Looking for:

  • 1 character actor

  • 1 actor with an athletic or slender build who can carry a tune

ROLES AVAILABLE:

Kyle/Robert (20-30s)

  • Kyle is a proud 305 bro who treats his zoo visits like sacred pilgrimages. He’s passionate—some might say obsessed—with the Malayan Tapir and can rattle off facts like a Discovery Channel special.

  • Robert is an early-model autonomous cleaning robot. He’s endearing and harbors a deep love for his owner’s wife, or is that his programming? This role requires comedic timing, singing ability, and comfort with movement. This actor will appear in their underwear, think Rocky from Rocky Horror.

Jack/Hector (20-30s)

  • Jack is also a 305 bro and Kyle’s best friend. He’s just as intense about the zoo but firmly believes his favorite animal—the Okapi—is far more majestic.

  • Hector is a futuristic, old-school macho husband. He’s stubborn, controlling, and casually gaslights his wife while expecting peak performance from his robot, Robert. Think Al Bundy from Married with Children—if he was Latino.

ABOUT THE SHOW: Last of the Red Hot Robots is a sci-fi camp comedy that blends the sketch energy of SNL, the absurdity of Mystery Science Theater 3000, and the over-the-top fun of classic camp humor. The play features four interlocking one-acts, and actors will perform in two of the four stories. Expect cabaret, burlesque, slapstick physical comedy, and a big-hearted dose of chaos. While there is no nudity in the show, there are moments of playful exposure. An intimacy director will be part of the creative team.
